Limes

The Limes was the boundary wall of the Roman Empire. To delimit the area of influence of the Germanic tribes in the north Pallisaden, ramparts and ditches were built – as well as in the Taunus. The Saalburg in the immediate vicinity belongs to the Unesco World Heritage Site.
